How to Reactivate the Duo MFA Mobile App

Scenario

A user had the Duo mobile app installed on their smart phone and used the app as their multi-factor authentication option.

The user purchased a new phone with same phone number.

The Duo mobile app has been removed or deactivated on the new phone.

How to reactivate the Duo mobile app

1. If the Duo mobile app has been removed from the new phone, install the Duo mobile app from the Apple App Store for Apple iOS or the Google Play Store for Android phones.

2. Go to https://cccs.login.duosecurity.com/ and enter the email address and click the Next button. Then enter the password and click the Log in button.

3. When DUO asks for authentication, click More Options.

4. Click Manage Devices.

  1. Click on Text message passcode.

  1. Enter the passcode that was texted to your phone.

  2. Click Verify.

  1. Once you’re in, click I have a new phone.

  1. Click Get Started.

  1. Make sure that you have DUO mobile installed on your new phone. Click Next.

  1. Scan the QR code from the DUO Mobile app on your phone.

  1. Click Continue.

  1. You are good to go.
