SharePoint has two types of sites: Sites for Document Management and Communications Sites. Communications Sites are designed for communicating information outside of a team.

Updates from Instruction is a news section where news posts from across the Instruction Communication SharePoint is posted.

The Events, Activities, Deadlines, etc. section contains tiles with event information, including dates, times, locations and descriptions.

Pages connected to a SharePoint Communications Site can have these sections as well. For example, the ACC-Instructional Technology Communications Page is a subpage of the ACC-Instruction Communications Site but has a separate News section (this section contains news for ACC-Instructional Technology only, but the main ACC-Instruction Site can pull the news posts and display them as well.)

The ACC-Instructional Technology Page also has a Quick Links section, which contains links that can both link within SharePoint and to external websites.

A subpage of these pages can also have separate items, such as on the Tech Training @ ACC Page, which is a subpage of the ACC-Instructional Technology Page. The Tech Training @ ACC Page contains a Quick Links section that has separate links from the ACC-Instructional Technology Page, as well as a Microsoft Form that visitors can complete.
