Data Protection with Sensitivity Labels

Data protection with sensitivity labels helps to prevent the unauthorized disclosure of data owned by a CCCS institution, as well as reduce the risk that sensitive information is shared accidentally or used inappropriately. To view details of the CCCS data protection policy, click the following link: SP 6-10k - Data Classification, Handling, and Protection -Colorado Community College System (cccs.edu)

Apply a Sensitivity Label in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, or PowerPoint

On the Home ribbon of the app, click the Sensitivity button. Then choose to apply the Public, Sensitive, or Restricted label.

Alternatively, click Show Bar to show the Information Protection bar. Then you can choose the Public, Sensitive, or Restricted label from the bar.

Apply a Sensitivity Label to non-Microsoft Office documents

In File Explorer, right-click the document and choose Classify and protect from the context menu.

This will open the Information Protection labeling client. From here, you can choose the Public, Sensitive, or Restricted label. Click the Apply button to apply the label.
