Mobile App

1. Depending on the type of phone you have the app can be downloaded from either the Apple App store for Apple iOS or the Google Play store for Android phones.  Search for Duo and make sure you download the “Duo Security App” and NOT the Google Duo app. To be sure Duo Security app is GREEN as seen below:

 

 

2. Click on the URL in the Duo welcome email. It will look similar to this:

    a. Make sure to search for the most recent DUO email as previous emails will have expired links. 

 3. Click the "Start Setup" button

 4. Select the "Mobile phone RECOMMENDED" option and then click the "Continue" button

5. Enter the phone number of your device, click the checkbox to confirm your phone number, then click the "Continue" button

 6. Select the type of phone you are enrolling and then click the Continue button

 7. If you have already completed Step 1, click the "I have Duo Mobile installed" button. Otherwise, install the app now and then click the "I have Duo Mobile installed" button.

 8. On your phone, open the Duo Mobile app and use the built-in barcode scanner to scan the barcode. This will activate the app.

 9. Once the app is activated, click the "Continue" button.

10. Choose how you want Duo to send MFA notifications by selecting an option from the "When I log in" dropdown menu. The recommended option for the Duo Mobile app is "Automatically send this device a Duo Push". Then click the "Finish Enrollment" button.

 11. You will then receive a notification that your enrollment was successful

Cell Phone

1. Click on the URL in the Duo welcome email. It will look similar to this:

 2. Click the "Start Setup" button

 3. Select the "Mobile phone recommended" option and then click the "Continue" button

 4. Enter the phone number of your device, click the checkbox to confirm your phone number, then click the "Continue" button

 5. Select the "Other (and cell phones)" option and then click the "Continue" button.

 6. Choose how you want Duo to send MFA notifications by selecting an option from the "When I log in" dropdown menu. The recommended option for a cell phone is "Ask me to choose authentication method". Then click the "Finish Enrollment" button.

 7. You will then receive a notification that your enrollment was successful

  Landline phone call

1. Click on the URL in the Duo welcome email. It will look similar to this:

 2. Click the "Start Setup" button

 3. Select the "Landline" option and then click the "Continue" button

 4. Enter the phone number of your device (and extension, if applicable), click the checkbox to confirm your phone number, then click the "Continue" button

5. Choose how you want Duo to send MFA notifications by selecting an option from the "When I log in" dropdown menu. The recommended option for a landline phone call is "Automatically call this device". Then click the "Finish Enrollment" button.

 6. You will then receive a notification that your enrollment was successful
